Why this works
Cinnamon supports blood sugar response — useful in any breakfast that includes fruit. Combined with the slow-release plant protein in Toned Protein Boost and a teaspoon of Collagen Ultimate+, this smoothie gives you 25g+ of protein, antioxidant-rich apple polyphenols, and the warming spice profile of autumn.
Ingredients
- 1 scoop Toned Protein Boost
- 1 rounded teaspoon Collagen Ultimate+
- 1 small apple, cored (skin on, or gently stewed in 1 tsp coconut oil for 4 minutes for a deeper flavour)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, pinch of cloves (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon rolled oats (omit for gluten free)
- 1 tablespoon almond butter or tahini
- 250ml oat milk
- Handful of ice
Method
- Optional: gently stew the apple in 1 tsp coconut oil for 4 minutes with the cinnamon. Cool slightly. (Skip if pressed for time — raw apple works.)
- Add oat milk to a high-speed blender, followed by Toned Protein Boost and Collagen Ultimate+.
- Add the apple, oats, almond butter, vanilla and remaining spices.
- Add ice and blend for 60 seconds on high until silky.
- Pour into a tall glass. Dust with a pinch of cinnamon for the photo.
Naturopath’s note
"This is one of my favourites in the cooler months. The protein content keeps you full until lunch — which means no 11am sugar dip. The cinnamon adds a small thermogenic note and supports steady blood sugar, which your skin appreciates."
