Directions + Warnings

Dosage

Adults – Take two flat teaspoons a day (6 g) with 200 mL of water, juice, sprinkle over food, or blend into your favourite smoothie. Use as professionally prescribed by your healthcare practitioner.

Children – Not suitable for children under 15 unless specifically prescribed by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Cautions

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • Consult your healthcare professional if you have a history of kidney stones; high vitamin C may increase risk of recurrence.

  • Contains kiwifruit – avoid if allergic.

  • Always read the label.

Contraindications & Drug Interactions

  • Allergy: Avoid Aloe vera if allergic to Liliaceae plants (garlic, onions, tulips).

  • Pregnancy: Aloe vera laxative use may pose potential risks to embryo and fetus.

  • Renal or cardiac disease: Prolonged use of Aloe vera latex may cause diarrhea, electrolyte imbalance, and hypokalemia. Avoid if history of renal or cardiac disorders.

  • Drug interactions: Aloe vera may interact with diuretics, corticosteroids, hypoglycemic agents, and certain cardiac drugs. Zinc may reduce absorption of some medications (e.g., tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics – separate doses by at least 2 hours).

Effect on Vitamin & Drug Bioavailability

  • Aloe vera gel may enhance absorption of vitamins C and E and certain drugs, including insulin.
